How to access funds to boost your income?

August 5 2022

How to access funds to boost your income? Find out about local support below from local councils.

The cost-of-living crisis is squeezing household finances across the nation. If you are on a low-income, help may be at hand.  We recommend contacting your local council to find out about any support available locally.

Your local council may have a ‘Household Support Fund’ that could help you if you are struggling to make ends meet.

The Household Support Fund does not affect any benefits and does not need to be paid back.  The Household Support Fund has been created to support households with a shortfall in funds to cover essentials such as:

  • Purchasing food
  • Electricity and water payments
  • Other essential expenses connected to water, electricity and wider necessities (along with sanitary products, heat clothing, soap, blankets).

Applications are open until 30 September 2022 and we recommend taking action as soon as possible.

Reducing energy costs through home energy improvements

If you are worried about the rising energy costs, we recommend taking action now to ensure your central heating is working and that your home is as energy efficient as possible.

If you are a homeowner, you may be able to access grant funding to support some or all of the cost of improving your Energy Performance Certificate.  Our Partner Pages details local support organisations providing free energy advice.

We recommend being more squirrel and taking action now while the sun is shining.

For homeowners not eligible for a grant, or who need to ‘top-up’ grant funding, a home improvement loan for energy efficiency or renewables may be a good solution.

At Lendology, we have a holistic approach to lending and believe that people should not be excluded because of their credit history. We welcome applicants from all homeowners including those who may be perceived as having a ‘bad credit history’.

By lending responsibly, we consider everyone individually and consider your financial situation and unique circumstances during our assessment. Our lending decisions are made by people for people so that we can offer bespoke repayment plans tailored to each of our customers. The Benefits Calculator will help you to understand your entitlements to Universal Credit, Pension Credit, Child Benefit, Council Tax Reduction and Help to save.

We do not punish customers with poor credit. Our loans are funded by local councils.  This means that we can offer you a low interest rate.
Your local council policy will determine who is eligible to apply for a loan and the home works that are eligible.  For more information, please contact us.

Representative Example (4% fixed interest rate, Representative 4.2% APR).
Loans are subject to status and are typically protected by a Title Restriction.
