Exciting news for Cornwall homeowners! You can now apply for lower-cost loans to fund energy-saving home improvements through the new Council-backed Cornwall Green Home Improvement Scheme.
In Cornwall, over half of homes lack access to mains gas, leaving many residents reliant on costly and inefficient heating sources like oil, LPG, or electric night storage heaters. This reliance on non-renewable energy contributes to high energy consumption and carbon emissions, exacerbating the region’s environmental challenges.
Furthermore, many homes in Cornwall suffer from poor energy efficiency, leading to increased health risks, financial burdens, and strain on public services such as the NHS. Shockingly, Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) reveal that over 24% of owner-occupied homes, 15% of private rented sector (PRS) homes, and 6% of social housing likely have low-performing EPC ratings (F or G). This equates to roughly 20% of all housing stock in Cornwall.
This project is funded by the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund. Cornwall Council has been chosen by the Government as a Lead Authority for the fund and is responsible for monitoring the progress of projects funded through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.
With over £668,254 from the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, our scheme offers low interest loans for eco-friendly upgrades like solar panels and insulation. We’re committed to making your home healthier, more energy-efficient, and kinder to the planet.
In partnership with Lendology CIC, Cornwall Council is dedicated to transforming communities and creating a brighter, greener future for all residents.

Representative Example (4% fixed interest rate, Representative 4.2% APR).
Loans are subject to status and are typically protected by a Title Restriction. Borrow £5,000 over 60 months, £92.08 monthly repayments. Total amount repayable = £5,544.96, including £20 fee for registering the Title Restriction against your property at the Land Registry. The £20.00 fee is only payable if a loan is agreed by Lendology and you decide to proceed with a loan. We do not charge interest on the fee. A Title Restriction means that you may not be able to sell your home without our permission unless the loan is fully repaid. Missing payments could affect your credit rating and ability to obtain credit in the future.
