Last month's Landlord Forums

October 9 2018
During the last two weeks of September, we attended several partner councils’ landlord forums including the Landlords Expo, organised by Somerset West Private Sector Housing Partnership, at Junction 24, Bridgwater, the Mid Devon Landlord Networking Event, organised by Mid Devon District Council, at Paschoe House, Crediton and the West Dorset Landlord Forum held in Dorchester.
The Landlords Expo, on Wednesday, September 19, was open to anyone from West Somerset, Taunton Deane and Sedgemoor and provided free information, advice and support on a range of housing subjects. Many different organisations were present along with guest speakers. Andy Meldrum, Lendology Loans Adviser, gave a presentation about our organisation and what loans are available to landlords. The event and the Lendology presentation were well attended and it was great to talk to so many landlords.
The Mid Devon Landlord Networking Event also took place last Wednesday. Devon Loans Adviser, Ellie Lister, represented us at this one, and again it was busy and she had the opportunity to talk to lots of landlords. The first presentation was delivered by Matt Hurley from the Department for Work & Pensions on ‘Universal Credits – making it work for Landlords’ and the Keynote Speaker was lifestyle and property presenter, Amanda Lamb.
On Wednesday 26 September, Ellie represented Lendology at the Landlords’ Local Authority Partnership Seminar in Dorchester, organised by West Dorset District Council. Ellie wasn’t scheduled to deliver a presentation but as a space became available at the last minute, Ellie was able to step into the agenda. The event was well attended and the feedback so far has been positive. West Dorset District Council run these seminar every six months, so if you’re a landlord in Dorset or Weymouth & Portland, it is well worth keeping an eye on the events here: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/o/landlords-local-authority-partnership-11050794839.
