Maintaining independence is important to all of us and keeping Somerset residents safe and well in their homes is the key focus of Somerset Independence Plus. Linking multiple support services into one helpful hub, Somerset Independence Plus was created to assist Somerset residents “to enable them to be more independent, improve their housing and to live safer in their homes”.
Commissioned by Somerset County Council and delivered by Sedgemoor District Council and Somerset West & Taunton Council, there are two centres in Somerset, one in Wellington and one in Shepton Mallet, open to the public to visit for face-to-face advice and a ‘test-drive’ of the adaptation equipment.
Here at Lendology, we work closely with Somerset Independence Plus to ensure a holistic service is provided to customers who require adaptations, repairs or improvements to their home. Home repair and improvement projects can be hugely stressful and a helping hand with finding contractors, obtaining planning consent and project management is often the key to the successful completion of the project.
Somerset Independence Plus are able to provide advice and support on all of these matters, as well as providing practical light-touch solutions such as small aids and equipment and minor works such as rails and ramping.
