Shortlisted for the Somerset Business Awards

January 25 2022

Lendology CIC has been shortlisted for two awards in the Somerset Business Awards 2022.

The Somerset Business Awards is run annually by the Somerset Chamber of Commerce. Since becoming members of the Chamber in 2020, we’ve been presented with so many fantastic opportunities to connect with local businesses across the county.

This year, we are proud to announce that we have been shortlisted for Medium Business of the Year and Rebuild and Thrive by Somerset Business Award judges.

The Medium Business of the Year is awarded to organisations that can demonstrate how they stand out from the crowd through areas such as ambition, profitability, growth, sound business planning, customer satisfaction and management of people.

Somerset Chamber Executive Director, Emma Rawlings, said that the Medium Business of the Year Award was one of the most hotly contested categories.

New to 2022, the Rebuild and Thrive award recognises businesses who, despite some of the most challenging business conditions ever, have reinvented their offering and been rewarded with a successful business, fit to take on the post-pandemic business landscape.

This year is the 17th anniversary of the awards and the grand final will be hosted by BBC Somerset presenter and journalist Claire Carter at the Winter Gardens Pavilion, in Weston-super-Mare, on March 11, 2022.

On Monday, judges Alison Smith of Brook Financial Management Limited and Nick Porter of Barclays visited our office to find out more about the work we do across Somerset ahead of finalist announcements at the beginning of February.

Our CEO, Emma Lower, said “It was fantastic to meet the judges and discuss our lending across private sector housing. Despite the challenges we’ve faced over the last 12 months, we’ve adapted our services to continue to deliver impact to ensure that all homeowners have access to warm, safe, and dry homes.”

Emma added “I was excited to meet the Judges in person, as last year it was a zoom call, which made it much more formal and shorter.  The Judges asked some fantastic questions, had done a huge amount of pre-meeting preparation, and knew our business, which was impressive.”

“It feels fantastic to be shortlisted for two awards this year. Each year you can see that the standards improve, so I think making the short-list is a real positive for our business. I truly hope that we do make it to the finals.”
