Mark is in a wheelchair and suffers from chronic spasms. Moving around his home had become so challenging, that he only lived on the ground floor. Rather than his castle, his home had become a nightmare.
Having lived in the property for over 18 years, Mark wanted to find a solution that would mean his home was fit for him now and into the future. In the past, he had a through-floor lift installed, but his deteriorating condition meant that it was dangerous for him to use.
Working with the council, he applied for a Disabled Facilities Grant to extend his home meaning that on the ground floor, he would have access to a wetroom, bedroom, lounge and kitchen that were suitable for his needs. His new living room opens up onto their beautiful garden, which they still enjoy even though it is a little smaller!
Disabled Facilities Grants sometimes do not cover the full cost of works and Mark’s local council suggested he speak to Lendology about a Disabled Facilities Loan. These loans are used to top-up grant funding or where someone is not eligible for a grant.
The extension was designed swiftly and was built within 3 months!
Mark said: “I recommend Lendology to anybody, the service is second to none. This help has given me my life. I’m comfortable, at home with my family – what more can I say than it’s superb all rounds!”
