Park home owner, Mrs J has osteoarthritis and osteoporosis. With a rotten bathroom floor and an inaccessible step in the shower, her home was unsafe and her arthritis meant it was unsuitable for her needs.
Mrs J had previously taken out a loan with Lendology for cladding works to her Teignbridge home. She told us “Having cladding has made my park home a cosy place to be, warmth cuts my joint pains and lifts my mood.”
Having knocked herself out when she hit her head because of the high ridge in her old shower, Mrs J was desperate for help funding bathroom adaptations to prevent falling again. Now the works are done, she said “My new bathroom is a joy, I am no longer afraid of having a shower, tripping and go head first.” Whilst the contractor was fitting the new bathroom, he removed her old toilet and found that the joints were all rotten. Mrs J said “They crumbled like cake. I was a whisk away from my death, you have saved my life!! Without your help, I might not even have been here now!”
With an increased sense of wellbeing now that the works are complete, Mrs J feels less likely to have an accident and finds it easier to move around her home. Feeling happier, safer and more independent, Mrs J told us “I cannot tell you what a difference the two consecutive loans have made to my life. I have my pride back!”
When asked to comment on the loan scheme she said “It’s easy to apply for and if like me, you have things in your home that are just not suitable for you anymore, this is the way forward! I now have a beautiful, useable bathroom, adjusted to my needs and very easy to clean.”
