M&J have owned Alinthia House since 2005, where they ran a successful care home for many years. After closing the business, the property was vacant for a few years before the owners decided to convert the building into four individual homes.
Having started the renovation project with their own funds, they soon encountered a major challenge. New building regulations required updated insulation for the walls, windows and floors across all four properties, plus increasing building costs following covid created a significant financial burden.
After discussions with Teignbridge Council they were recommended to contact Lendology. Our empty property loans provided the perfect solution, allowing M&J to obtain a loan for each of the four properties to cover the cost of meeting the updated building regulations. They have since completed two properties with one on the market and the others are well underway!
Through our collaboration with local councils, Lendology contributes to enhancing neighbourhoods and ensuring homes are not left empty.
