If you would like to complete your loan application over the phone, please call us on 01823 461099. Our offices are open 8.30am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday.
Documents to Support your Application
Having your documentation ready when applying can avoid delays, however, you are welcome to have a chat with us first to understand if we could potentially lend and what a loan would look like for you, before submitting your documents for verification. We have the option for you to use OpenBanking to support your application, which is a simple, secure way to share your financial information with us.
Your Case Manager will provide a list of documents we require to process your application. This would usually include:
- Bank Statements. If you bank online or via app, you have the option to send your statements via OpenBanking powered by our partner, Plend. Alternatively, you can send us two months’ worth of bank statements which must include your name and address. Unfortunately, we cannot accept screenshots of banking transactions. If you no longer receive paper bank statements, you can download full statements from your online account or app.
- If you have a Mortgage or Lifetime Mortgage, we will require a copy of your mortgage statement. This must be dated within the last 12 months and show your name and address, repayment method and remaining term. If you have bought your property within the last 12 months, we can accept the mortgage offer letter.
- Credit Card and Loan Statements. If you have any credit cards or loans, we will require copies of your statements, dated within the last 3 months and showing your name and address. If your credit account is managed online, your credit provider should have the option to download a full statement to assist you with providing us with this information.
- Quote for the works required to your home. As we lend council funds, we do need copies of the quotes for all of the works you are completing at your home, along with invoices once the works have been completed. Some people like to speak to us to see how much they could borrow before getting quotes for the works; this is absolutely fine!

We are happy to work with family members/supporting agencies if you would like help along the application process, however we will need your consent to doing so before we can speak to someone other than yourself. For customers identified as needing more support, we can arrange a face-to-face visit if needed. Your Case Manager is here to help, and are fully trained to understand a wide range of financial circumstances.
