Turning Empty Properties into Homes — Time and Time Again with a Lendology Empty Property Loan

Key Information

When Mark and Martin Pow of Regent Street Ltd and Pow Property saw a tired building in the centre of Teignmouth, they knew it had potential. Thanks to Lendology’s empty property loan, funded by Teignbridge District Council, they were able to restore it to a modern standard—benefitting not just themselves, but the whole community.

Reviving a Local Building

The property had a commercial unit on the ground floor and two dated, unoccupied flats above. “No one’s been living in the flats, they were just very old and dated,” said Mark.

Mark and Martin purchased and refurbished the property, bringing it back into use and creating high-quality rental flats in the town centre.

“It’s definitely helping the local community,” said Martin.

Quick, Easy and Helpful

For Mark and Martin, the process of applying for an empty property loan was simple. They worked closely with the Lendology team and were impressed by the personal support.

“It’s just so very, very easy,” said Martin. “And the interest rate you guys are offering was so good—it’s hard to say no to.”

“Harriet, Shannon and Rebecca have been absolutely fantastic,” said Mark. “Whenever we phoned, they’ve always been there to answer. It’s been brilliant every single step of the way.”

A Long-Standing Relationship

Determined to breathe new life into the building, Mark and Martin explored finance options to fund the refurbishment. After years of using bridging finance, they were introduced to Lendology’s loan scheme for a previous project.

“We first heard about Lendology through word of mouth,” they explained. “Someone recommended you to us—and we also saw an advert.”

Their positive experience and ongoing relationship with Lendology made it the natural choice to use the loan scheme again for their latest refurbishment.

“This is now our fourth loan with Lendology,” they shared. “Every single time, it’s been an absolute breeze.”

Their Advice to Others? Just Do It.

“Oh, don’t think twice,” said Mark. “Just go ahead and do it straight away. It’s such an easy process. A lot less red tape…It’s the easiest process of requesting money that you’ll find in the current market.”

Could an Empty Property Loan Help You?
If you’ve inherited an unoccupied home, are working on a renovation, or need finance to finish a property project, an empty property loan from Lendology could be just what you need.

Funded by Teignbridge District Council, this type of loan helps turn empty properties into homes again—improving housing in your community while offering affordable, accessible finance.

Representative Example (4% fixed interest rate, Representative 4.2% APR).

Loans are subject to status and are typically protected by a Title Restriction.

Borrow £5,000 over 60 months, £92.08 monthly repayments. Total amount repayable = £5,544.96, including £20 fee for registering the Title Restriction against your property at the Land Registry. The £20.00 fee is only payable if a loan is agreed by Lendology and you decide to proceed with a loan. We do not charge interest on the fee. A Title Restriction means that you may not be able to sell your home without our permission unless the loan is fully repaid. This is a financial promotion approved by Lendology CIC. Missing payments could affect your credit rating and ability to obtain credit in the future.

It’s the easiest process of requesting money that you’ll find in the current market.
