With the rising costs in energy alongside the challenges of climate change, reducing carbon emissions should be a business priority for all organisations. At Lendology, our focus is on increasing the impact we deliver for homeowners, whilst reducing our impact on the environment through our day-to-day activities.
We are delighted to announce that we are officially Carbon Neutral and are one of the few lending institutions in the UK with this accolade. Our total carbon emissions for 2021 were 9.88 tCO2e. Working with Carbon Neutral Britain, this has now been offset through renewable projects around the world.
With our Carbon Emissions Report and new recommendations to hand, we have spent 2022 looking at ways of decreasing/conserving our already minimal carbon footprint, especially as our number of team members and council partners expands.
Watch this space for our plans for 2023 and beyond, which will certainly include being re-certified as a carbon neutral organisation. We will also be investing in an ‘Energy Champion’ to support team members with reducing their individual impact, as well as launching a new webpage to support our customers with understanding the most cost-effective measures to retrofit their homes.
