Charity from Higher Treween, Cornwall, wanted to improve their old, draughty home but didn’t have the funds for the repairs. After discovering Lendology through a local magazine, they applied for a Cornwall Green Energy Efficient loan, funded by Cornwall Council, to upgrade their windows.
“We started applying and they [Lendology] agreed, and we started. We put our windows here and its good improvement for our house because our house is much warmer with no condensation,” Charity explains.
Before the loan, their old windows were rotten and falling apart. Charity adds, “Every time I tried to clean the windows, they were dropping in pieces, the wood was rotten. We thought that’s not good enough, especially if in the future we want to sell the house.”
The new windows made a huge difference to their home’s comfort. Charity says, “The house is very, very warm, nice, and cosy. Before we could feel the wind coming through because of the windows. Now we’ve got double glazing, and the noise, because we live beside the road, when we’re inside we can’t even hear the traffic.”
Their experience with Lendology was very positive. “Lendology, they are very, very helpful people. Anything you want to ask, they’re always very helpful,” says Charity.
Charity’s advice for other homeowners considering a loan with Lendology is simple: “They should not even hesitate about it. They could just go ahead and apply, and they will help you, you get your loan and you’ll be happy. The payment as I said before is so good that it’s just safe. You don’t need to stress yourself. It’s a good payable amount.”
Since taking out their Cornwall Green Energy Efficient loan, Charity has managed their finances well. She notes, “We know how we can afford and what we can afford. Our loan is not disgraceful. So we can manage brilliant.”
Their story shows how a Cornwall Green Energy Efficient loan can help homeowners improve their homes, reduce energy costs, and create a warmer, quieter living space.
