Alan & Tracey, from East Suffolk, were looking for ways to reduce their energy bills and carbon footprint when they discovered the benefits of solar energy. After exploring options in December 2024, they came across the Warm Homes Suffolk Loan, delivered by Lendology CIC. The interest-free loan made it possible for them to invest in a cleaner, more efficient energy system for their home.
By early January 2025, their loan application was approved — taking just 15 working days, even with the Christmas holidays in between. With funding secured, Alan & Tracey chose to install a 3.52 kW solar PV system with battery storage to maximise their energy efficiency.
“The process was very straightforward, more so with yourselves than actually getting the solar panels fitted,” Alan shared.
Their new system now generates enough electricity to cover nearly half of their annual energy needs. In the first year alone, they expect to save around £659 on their energy bills and reduce their carbon emissions by 587 kg — making a real difference both financially and environmentally.
Thanks to the Warm Homes Suffolk Loan and Lendology’s supportive process, Alan & Tracey are enjoying a warmer, more energy-efficient home and a brighter future.
