From EPC D to A: How a Lendology Loan Made It Possible

Key Information

“We have been feeling very uneasy that we are personally not doing enough to help combat climate change,” Mike shared. “Energy generation is the most obvious way we can help while at the same time improving our property.”

Motivated by this desire to make a difference, Mike and his family started exploring renewable energy options. When their local council advertised the Solar Together initiative, Mike requested a quote. “The quote was very competitive compared to quotes I had in the past but appeared to still be outside our budget without downsizing it.”

That’s when Mike discovered Lendology’s Warm Homes Suffolk Loan  Warm Homes Suffolk Loan

Mike decided to apply — and everything changed.

“They couldn’t have been more helpful,” Mike said. “First I provided them information about who we are and the proposed solar installation. They reviewed our application, called us to check the details, keeping us informed throughout a short application process.”

He appreciated having a named contact to guide him through. “It was really good to have a personal contact who was knowledgeable and supportive. They very quickly came back to say they were happy in principle to lend us the full installation cost.”

Lendology made each step simple and clear. “They explained the steps and were extremely efficient answering all our questions and dealt with each step in the process very rapidly,” Mike said.

Best of all, the loan allowed the family to spread the cost over time. “It gave us longer to repay than the projected payback of the solar panels – so almost a no-brainer,” Mike explained. Lendology even paid the installer directly, making the financial process seamless and stress-free.

Today, their solar installation has taken their home’s Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) from Band D to Band A, with a SAP rating of 100. “We are now proud owners of sufficient electricity generation to meet all our requirements and still have lots of spare to install a heat pump and remove our gas boiler.”

Reflecting on his journey, Mike said:
“Without your help I don’t think we would have been able to get this all done. I’d recommend anyone who is unsure whether they can afford to do their little bit to save the planet to talk to Lendology!”

Loans are subject to status and are typically protected by a Title Restriction.

Borrow £5,000 over 60 months, £83.33 monthly repayments, with the final payment of £83.53. Total amount payable = £5,020.00, including £20.00 fee for registering the Title Restriction against your property at the Land Registry. The £20.00 fee is only payable if a loan is agreed by Lendology, and you decide to proceed with a loan. We do not charge interest on the fee. A Title Restriction means that you may not be able to sell your home without our permission unless the loan is fully repaid. Missing payments could affect your credit rating and ability to obtain credit in the future.

Without your help I don’t think we would have been able to get this all done. I’d recommend anyone who is unsure whether they can afford to do their little bit to save the planet to talk to Lendology!
