Many homes in England are expensive to heat due to poor energy efficiency. To help, the government launched the Warm Homes: Local Grant in April 2025. The scheme provides households with up to £30,000 to make their homes warmer, greener and cheaper to run.
The grant is managed by local councils and will run until 2028. It focuses on two areas:
You can receive up to £15,000 of funding for each of the two areas.
To be eligible, households must:
The scheme started in April 2025. To apply, you must live in a local authority that has been awarded funding. You can see the full list of participating local councils on the government website.
Local councils will manage funding and installation in their areas. This avoids delays and makes sure funding reaches those who need it most.
Landlords can also apply for funding, with full funding for the first property. Then they’ll receive 50% funding for additional properties.
To apply for the Local Grant, you can check your eligibility using this tool on the government website. Once the application has been submitted, your relevant local authority will reach out within 10 working days to gather more information and arrange a home survey.
At Lendology, we believe everyone should have a warm, energy-efficient home. We work with local councils to help homeowners or private renters access funding for essential home improvements.
If you need extra financial support beyond the grant, or are not eligible for a Warm Homes Grant, we offer eligible homeowners low-interest “top-up” loans. These loans could help cover the remaining costs of energy efficiency upgrades or fund additional improvements that might not be included in the grant.

Loans are subject to status and are typically protected by a Title Restriction.
Borrow £5,000 over 60 months, £92.08 monthly repayments. Total amount repayable = £5,544.96, including £20 fee for registering the Title Restriction against your property at the Land Registry. The £20.00 fee is only payable if a loan is agreed by Lendology and you decide to proceed with a loan. We do not charge interest on the fee. A Title Restriction means that you may not be able to sell your home without our permission unless the loan is fully repaid. This is a financial promotion approved by Lendology CIC. Missing payments could affect your credit rating and ability to obtain credit in the future.
