Lendology Donates £500 to Thinking Works in Partnership with Merton Council to Support Energy Efficiency

Leader of Merton Council, Councillor Ross Garrod welcomed Lendology CIC and Thinking Works to the Civic Centre to highlight how the Council are working with community groups to reduce carbon emissions across the Borough.
CEO of Lendology CIC, Emma Lower presented Thinking Works with a £500 donation. The donation was received by Giles Read, Managing Director of Thinking works, alongside Leader of the Council, Councillor Ross Garrod and will support Thinking Works work to deliver more energy advice services to vulnerable households.
The London Borough of Merton Council and Lendology CIC launched a Home Energy Efficiency Loan Scheme in March 2024 to support homeowners and landlords with efficiency upgrades and renewable energy installations. The scheme is designed to provide loans for energy-saving improvements such as insulation, solar panels, and air source heat pumps. Such home energy upgrades can support with lowing home carbon emissions to future-proof against electricity and gas price rises.
Supporting local communities and organisations like Thinking Works is crucial to the success of these efforts. As a community-focused organisation, Thinking Works supports vulnerable households in Merton, providing practical advice and assistance to improve home energy efficiency and reduce fuel poverty.
On presenting the cheque Emma Lower said “Real change happens when we come together with local partners who share our vision. Our partnership with Merton Council and Thinking Works is a fantastic example of how we can make a meaningful difference in people’s lives. By donating to Thinking Works, we’re not just helping households save energy—we’re supporting a community-wide effort to tackle climate change and safe, sustainable homes for everyone in Merton. We’re proud to be part of that journey.”
Giles Read from Thinking works responded “Lendology’s financial support shows their commitment to supporting local organisations and helping local Merton residents. Working in partnership, this funding will help us support households to make improvements that will improve thermal comfort whilst lowering carbon emissions.”
