Lendology raises awareness of Deaf Awareness Week to improve accessibility

Written by Emma Lower, Chief Executive

Deaf Awareness Week is an annual event in the UK to raise awareness about the deaf community. At Lendology, it’s one of our core values to help improve accessibility to finance wherever possible. This is why we’ve decided to team up with SignVideo and produce a better way to communicate with speakers of British Sign Language.

In the UK, 12 million people are deaf or suffer from hearing loss, and access to services and information can often be a challenge for deaf people due to barriers such as a lack of captioning or sign language interpretation.

As well as our partnership with SignVideo, we are committed to ensuring that all of our videos that we produce include subtitles. We also offer free, no-obligation home visits to customers who are unable to apply for a home improvement loan online or via the phone.

We’re extremely proud to be promoting Deaf Awareness Week in 2023. For more inspiring success stories regarding Deaf Awareness Week, visit the National Deaf Children’s Society website.
