Alan & Tracey wanted to generate more of their own electricity at their home in East Suffolk and reduce how much they relied on energy from the grid.
Alan had a clear idea of the solar system he wanted and began looking at ways to finance the installation. After initially exploring finance through a solar company, he searched online for other options and discovered the Warm Homes Suffolk Loan through Suffolk County Council.
“I did another search and your company came up through Suffolk County Council.”
The interest-free loan, delivered by Lendology, gave Alan another way to fund the improvements while retaining the freedom to choose the solar company he wanted to work with.
“Going with yourselves meant that I got to choose the company I wanted to work with, which I knew were a professional company. So it suited me down to the ground.”
Alan and Tracey went ahead with a solar PV system and battery storage, allowing them to generate electricity at home and store energy to use when they need it.
Since having the system installed, Alan has already noticed a difference. During sunny periods, he says the household can avoid drawing electricity from the grid altogether.
The experience of arranging the finance was simpler than Alan had expected too.
“The process was very straightforward, more so with yourselves and the financial side than actually going to get the solar panels fitted”.
With their solar and battery system now in place, Alan and Tracey have taken another step towards generating more of the energy they use at home, with plans to go even further in the future.
