How to access grants and loans for adapting your home to suit your physical needs

Local Councils across the UK provide Disabled Facilities Grants to eligible applicants.  We encourage anyone looking to make adaptations to their home to first speak to their local Occupational Therapy teams to see what grants are available in your area, and to check your eligibility. 

Often, homeowners are eligible for a grant to cover part of the cost of adaptation works but not the full cost.  Our Disability Adaptation Loans could help in these situations.

Local councils disabled facilities grants do not cover ‘future needs’, and sometimes we find people are looking to make adaptations to avoid future challenges. Our Disability Adaption Loans could help with this (subject to your local council policy, which we can discuss with you in more detail).

Our website has a lot of useful information, including our loan calculator, to help calculate the monthly repayment on a capital repayment loan. Our loans are funded by local councils.  This means that we can offer you a low interest rate. Your local council policy will determine who is eligible to apply for a loan and the home repair works that are eligible. Loans are subject to status and are typically protected by a Title Restriction.

Borrow £5,000 over 60 months, £92.08 monthly repayments. Total amount repayable = £5,544.96, including £20 fee for registering the Title Restriction against your property at the Land Registry. The £20.00 fee is only payable if a loan is agreed by Lendology and you decide to proceed with a loan. We do not charge interest on the fee. A Title Restriction means that you may not be able to sell your home without our permission unless the loan is fully repaid. This is a financial promotion approved by Lendology CIC.
