Lending Done Differently

Support for hosts of Ukrainians during the cost of living crisis

Written by Emma Lower, Chief Executive

The war in Ukraine has not only displaced thousands of families, many of whom have been settled in the UK, but has impacted on the global price of energy.  Across the UK, households are worried about heating their homes this winter.

The Government’s Help for Households website sets out different support measures they will be offering: Help for Households.

However, host families will be hit harder with increased utility bills as the number of household occupants has increased.  Understanding the energy efficiency of your home is one step that can be taken now to make a plan about where energy savings can be made.

Working with local councils, Lendology provides low cost loans to homeowners to improve the energy efficiency of their homes or install renewable energy measures.

Many local councils also have grant schemes available for eligible households.  Find your local council here.

If you are not eligible for a local council grant, or have been awarded a grant but need a top-up to cover the full cost, find out more about spreading the cost of improving the energy efficiency of your home here.
