Mrs. B, an Exeter resident which had a vision to transform her home into an eco-friendly, energy efficient household. Mrs. B had incorporated advanced retrofit measures such as an air source heat pump, underfloor heating, photovoltaic solar panels, a solar-charging battery, a comprehensive heat recovery and ventilation system, and wheelchair accessibility to her downstairs extension.
Mrs. B approached Lendology to address the financing of the VAT associated with the retrofit measures, looking to make her home more energy efficient. With the help from our partnership with Exeter City Council, Mrs. B secured the necessary funding to cover the VAT on her home’s retrofit. This collaboration highlights the potent impact that effective financing solutions and community-driven initiatives can yield.
Mrs. B said “I suppose I was brought up to think that you should give something back. I like to think that I’m fairly well-educated, and therefore I feel I should be educating other people. And one of the things you can do is, do it by showing them the way.”
Now, Mrs. B lives in an exceptionally energy-efficient home, achieved through the support of Lendology’s Energy Efficency Loan and the collaborative efforts of Exeter City Council. This highlights how financial partnerships can help to support potential environmentally friendly initiatives, promoting sustainable living options in local communities.
