Lending Done Differently

Frome’s Solar Streets Project and Energy Efficiency Loans

Written by Emma Lower, Chief Executive

Following the removal of the Government’s Feed-in Tariff in March 2019, some households may be questioning the value in investing in solar panels to generate energy.

However, with Solar PV being cheaper now that it has been historically, and local initiatives such as Frome’s Solar Streets Projects springing up to provide extra incentives, this may well be a good time to go green.

The Solar Streets project is a collaboration between Frome Town Council, Frome Renewable Energy Co-Op and local solar installer IDDEA to provide discounts to households in Frome to install Solar PV.

The scheme was launched in March 2019 and by December 2019, 70 installations locally had been completed.  For more information about the project and how to enquire visit Frome Town Council – Solar Streets.

Our Energy Efficiency Loans can be used to fund the discounted cost of the solar panels.  For more information, visit our Energy Efficiency Loans page or contact us for a free, impartial chat with our expert loans’ advisers.
